Starting XI
Coach Francis Chege stuck with the winning formula that triumphed over Kisumu All Stars.
- GK: Marani
- DEF: Neddy (RB), Babu (LB), Dante, Mejja, Isuza
- MID: Wahinya, Ateya
- FWD: Kithome, Mashaa, Glen
First Half: Quickfire Goals Set the Tone
SS ASSAD came in well-drilled, setting up in a 4-3-3 with a double pivot and a compact mid-block. But by the 10th minute, their resistance was broken.
Neddy, trademark right-foot feint and switch to the left, whipped in a brilliant back-post cross. Babu was on hand with a clever cut-back to the edge of the box — Glen tapped it in. 1–0.
3K FC took control. Mashaa threatened three times but was denied by the Assad goalkeeper. Kithome also came close.
The breakthrough came again via a quick-thinking throw-in by Dante. He found Glen, who beat his marker and crossed for Wahinya, who headed in our second. 2–0 at the break.
Second Half: Glen’s Solo Brilliance, Nervy Ending
Our boys dominated large spells in the second half, relentlessly searching for a third. The Assad keeper pulled off multiple stops — until Glen decided to go solo.
Glen dribbled past 5 ASSAD defenders, cut inside to his weaker foot, and smashed it into the roof of the net — a goal worthy of any highlight reel. Think Khvicha Kvaratskhelia vs Aston Villa in the UCL… but add a 17-year-old with fire in his boots. 3–0.
Coach Chege made changes: Pepe, Messi, Kadona, Owen, and Ian came in for Babu, Neddy, Kithome, Eugene (inj.), and Mashaa.
Late on, SS Assad pulled two goals back in quick succession — but it wasn’t enough. The damage was already done.
Full-Time: 3K FC 3 – 2 SS ASSAD
What This Means
Another three points in the bag, and momentum firmly on our side. The character, the talent, and the hunger — it’s all coming together.
Glen continues to rise as one of the standout talents of the season, and Coach Chege’s game management proves pivotal once again.
